It is important to have an idea of the services you want to offer, but even more so who the services will affect. The customers, or in this case clients are an important ingredient to any business. As you can see from the content on my blog, I am a lover of the arts. I want to use the arts as the avenue to help my potential clients. In doing research for my ENT 645 ideal client assignment, I recognized that there are a variety of clients that could benefit from the services I would like to offer. After all, art is universal, and everyone can do it! As Elizabeth Wilson wrote in her article Know Your Target Market: “Smart marketers know there are many subsets of every group targeted; not every message will work on every person.” (Wilson, 2009). I decided to narrow it down to the two segments of adults and at-risk youth. Considering I have more experience working with at -risk youth, I will be focusing more on this group. Many schools are cutting the budget for art funding. Furthermore, local community organizations offering art classes are often flooded with kids and cannot always provide each child with the attention they need. It is for these reasons, among others, that I feel as though my services could be of use. I have analyzed my potential clients, reviewed data, and more in the link below.

  1. Shayna,
This is a great aspect to focus on as many people do enjoy art as a form of stress relief. Also, it allows people to see their artistic talents. You are correct that associated cost(s) is a huge factor for many places not being able to offer art or the classes are limited due to funding. Looking forward to learning more about the program you are developing for those individuals.

  2. Shayna,

As this screencast was selected at random for me, I am extremely pleased with the cause that you represent. I believe it was the will of the YOUniverse for me to select your screencast because as you commented on my blog url post, we are both artists & share that in common.

A wonderful all inconclusive target market was demonstrated in your screencast & it is good that you divided your market up into the youth and adults. Taking you up on the offer to provide any information regarding helpful advice, for my last mini-semester, I interviewed a friend with a company she recently founded called Ghost Flowers. She believes that “…more art takes us a step closer to world peace.” If you are interested in reviewing this screencasts, let me know & I will provide the link to you! Then you will get a more detailed understanding of why I am connecting you both. Her cause is essentially art therapy promotion along with artists. 5% of sales made through Ghost Flowers are donated to the Art Therapy Institute! 10% goes to Ghost Flowers. Her name is Ivana Vasquez & I have known her since 2012, 🙂

Thanks so much for your venture idea & your passion for art!
